How Much Do Braces Cost?

what do braces cost

One of the most common questions we get through email and over the phone is how expensive are braces? Honestly, this is a really hard question to answer.

The cost of braces can vary greatly depending on the type of braces needed, age of the patient, and the length of treatment. There are several different types of braces such as metal braces, ceramic braces, lingual braces, and Invisalign. The three types of braces we do at Thompson Orthodontics are Invisalign, Damon clear braces (ceramic braces), and Damon metal braces.

Because getting braces and pricing is very customized to the unique needs of each patient, we recommend visiting Dr. Thompson for a free consultation. During the consultation he will start with a full set of diagnostic photos and a panoramic x-ray (you even get a copy to take home).

Dr. Thompson then performs a thorough exam and our treatment coordinator is in the room taking notes so she can provide a summary of everything at the end of the consultation.

During the exam, Dr. Thompson will go over what he sees, what he recommends, and what options are available. The treatment coordinator will then provide you with a breakdown of what the cost of treatment will be, what your insurance will and will not cover (and why), and what you can expect for a monthly payment. We even offer interest free financing for those who need it!

Before you leave, you will receive a folder with all of your diagnostic photos, panoramic x-ray, and all of the information discussed so you can take it home and review it with anyone who may not have been able to come to the consultation.

So, that didn’t really answer the question of how much braces cost, but you can see that the answer is quite complicated. The cost of Invisalign or Damon braces will be somewhere in the ball park of $570 to $5,570, maybe a little more. Super helpful, right?

If you feel like you or someone you know needs braces, give us a call and schedule a free consultation.
